Meet Rachel!

This is a picture of my immediate family (I'm the little blond baby in my dad's arms!). 

This is my first year teaching in the Family Learning Program and my second year teaching fourth grade on Tuesdays in Limudim. I moved to LA last fall to start rabbinical school at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies. I grew up in Northbrook, IL, a suburb of Chicago, and went to college at Washington University in St. Louis. 

I knew that I wanted to check out Ikar before I even moved to LA because I had heard such great things about it. My plan was to shul-hop when I first moved here to try and find the right fit, but I came to Ikar once and I never left! I am so excited to be involved in FLP where I can teach and learn all of my favorite things--holidays, Hebrew, and Torah. Thank you to everyone for welcoming me into this community!
