We are Nikki Gordon and Julian Vargas. Julian is 10 years old and a fifth grader. He was in Limudim since 2nd grade up until we moved to Palm Springs last year. We first learned about IKAR while working with Progressive Jewish Alliance (now Bend the Arc) in 2010 and 2011; PJA was involved with IKAR through coalition work. We become members in 2011 and even though we now live kinda far away, we remain members and attend as frequently as possible. IKAR feels like home - a place where we can be observant and really dig into our religious roots, while also being politically progressive, socially active, and learning how to apply our ancient traditions to our world today. We are in FLP because of the distance and are so grateful to have the option!
